I went in to the 'kick start' marketing day with one set of ideas, and came out with a whole new perspective. I realised my vision for my brand was not 'matching up' with my current approach, hence have now completely re-thought how to proceed with the business. I now have a practical plan to work with, and feel much more confident and excited. Thanks Carolyn for challenging and inspiring me!#

Lessons from a removalist company

If you’ve ever sold your home, you’ll know how stressful it can be. Finding a trusty removalist to move your treasured possessions to your new home is just one small thing in a big list of things to do. So when my house went up for sale, I was very pleased to receive a letter from JJDash – Removals & Storage…

How did they know I’d need a removalist? A call to the boss John revealed his biggest and second most successful marketing tip (after word-of-mouth referrals). Every Tuesday he goes through the real estate section of the local paper and trawls the real estate websites and develops a mailing list of local homes for sale. He sends out 100 letters per week and usually gets 10 phone calls a week netting him 5 sales. Not a bad conversion rate!

I love it when small business owners get creative with marketing. John’s example shows that you don’t need to spend lots of money on expensive ads to get more business. A bit of time, persistence and a system is all it takes. Want to share your creative marketing idea?
